Health Policy

Please do not send your child to school sick. Keep your child home if they have a bad cough, green runny nose, sneezing, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, sore throat, rash, or lice. You don’t need to call me if they will be missing that day, but I would like to know if they will be gone for an extended amount of time.

Sick Day

Please allow me one sick day per calendar year. A phone call will be made the morning that it is taken. There will be no make up day for those two sick days that I take. Any additional sick days I will make up.

School Cancellations

I will follow District 60 schedule for all scheduled days off as well as all weather cancellations. During winter please listen to the radio or TV for snow closures. If District 60 cancels school I will be closed as well. Here are the dates of School District 60’s days off.

Back Pack

I really encourage every child to bring a backpack each day to put their paper and projects in. Please make it a habit to look over the papers brought home with them each day. This makes them feel special to spend a few minutes with you and helps reinforce what they are learning.

Show and Tell

We will be having show and tell the last day of every week. Try and limit one item to show. Once show and tell is over their item will need to go back in their backpack for the rest of the class time.

Discipline

If discipline problems occur I will immediately find out what the child’s frustrations are and together will come up with a positive solution. If your child has behavior issues during learning time, they may need to miss a few minutes of playtime. I will always talk with them and make sure they understand the rules. I will talk to you as well if it becomes a consistent problem. We can talk and come up with a plan that we both feel good about. I am firm believer in keeping an open line of communication between home and school. Please contact me sooner than later if you have any questions or concerns.

Snack Time

You will be asked to provide snacks three times throughout the school year. This will be your child’s special day. They will be the star student! They’ll be my helper in everything we do that day. Two of the snack days they’ll be the star student and the other day will be for their birthday. I love birthdays! I want to make that a super special day. We will do Summer birthdays in May.

Field Trips

We will be going on two or three field trips. More information will be sent out when exact dates have been scheduled. This is when I will need parent participation, because we like to have fun and be safe.

Calendar & Newsletter

A monthly calendar will be sent home with you child to inform you about what we are doing in the classroom and special events. Please keep your calendar accessible to look at and let your child know what they will be doing that day. If they need to bring something special it will all be posted on the calendar. I don’t send home a lot of extra reminders. If something is to change I will let you know.

Arrival  & Departure Policy

Arrival time will be 5 minutes before class starts. If you are late dropping them off please walk them to the door and see them come inside the classroom. You will have up to 5 minutes after release time to pick them up.

Consistently Early and Late Parents

I know it is hard to always be on time to drop off and pick up your child. Children tend to become very emotional and upset when they are the last child to leave. Please remember that I have personal obligations before and after preschool. Your timeliness is greatly appreciated. If this becomes a problem, then I must charge a babysitting fee of $5.00 per 10 minutes that you are later than 5 minutes after preschool ends.

Preschool Tuition

Tuition is due by they 5th of each month. After the 8th a late fee of $10.00 will be added to that months’ tuition.

3 & 4 year-old class $75/month (late payments $85)
4 & 5 year-old class $90/month (late payments $100)

Note: Tuition is based on a flat monthly rate. School days are missed for any other reason during the month are non-refundable.
